Should you become a licensed Minister?
|
Gods calling is not just for church pastors .... We are all full time Christians. We are all called to full time ministry., and there is no higher calling than God’s calling on our lives.
The place and approach to ministry varies. We don’t preach, sing, or take offerings in a Para-Church ministry, but our staff and those we serve need a level of ministry and discipleship none the less. If your sphere of service is a “Para Church” or other nonprofit, a Ministry License may open doors to greater impact and growth. As a licensed minister you will have additional choices to serve, in marriages, funerals, communion, baptism, Chaplaincy, pastoral counseling, and more. If you are receiving an income from your non profit work you may qualify for significant Tax benefits. Being recognized as well prepared and trained to work with the spiritual needs of people in your circle of influence adds an important element to your opportunities and credibility as a leader. For these reasons and more, if you're in a nonprofit working with people in need, and/or with volunteers, or staff, if you receive an income and your work presents opportunities to be a spiritual mentor, becoming a licensed minister is very useful.
